Antikythera is made entirely from our own little, rocky vineyard in the northernmost part of the Eola-Amity Hills. The wine, like the site, once idiosyncratic, now feels comfortingly predictable. The high spice, the chisel, the non-fruit intensity, the filigreed tannin, the ferrous finish, the tensile precision — cold year, warm year, late, early, wet, dry; this site does this.

The 2019 Antikythera, makes all of the vintages that came before feel like so many sketches of Christo’s Pont Neuf Wrapped; beautiful, collectible and clear but, ultimately, two dimensional versions of the eventual monumental form.

This is the wine we hoped we might find when we first committed to this site. That we can see this now, that we’re able to offer this to you at year fifteen (as opposed to year fifty or fifteen hundred) feels like the most surprising and most gratifying reward.
